Unable to move a file

I was dragging a file from a folder on the C:\ to save a
copy on my D:\. In the process, by accident I dropped
this file into this folder:
C:/e5ab2d84774a9d3f1a52a1ecdb711. When I try to move the
file back to its original place on the C:\, I get
either "access denied" or "not an authorized user".
However, I am set up as the administrator on my account
and am the only person who uses my machine (for home
use). I also cannot delete the file from where it is now.
I ended up totally recreating the document, but would
like to know what I can do if it happens in the future. I
assume the above-named folder is a programming one.
