I was trying to link my 2000 PC to an XP one. After
setting up a network connection (I thought) the PC said
reboot to accept settings. It came back saying
name/password incorrect I use the same password all the
time and am sure the Aministrator did not change case.I
have tried with caps with and also mixed. Can anyone tell
me how I can overcome this and/or is there any software I
can get to get me through this if the first answer is NO.
PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP?
Thanks
Graham

Hi Graham,

was your computer part of domain before? Did you remove it from domain?

If yes, you can't use domain passwords any more, you have to use local
administrator password that was set when windows were installed. If you
don't know this password, talk to your IT (domain administrators).

Hi

You might try to reset the local Administrator
password with one of the methods mentioned here:

http://securityadmin.info/noframes/faqget.asp#password

http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm
