Hello

I have a problem with a Windows XP pro system. At startup,
when displaying the logon screen, my user account has
disappeared, so it is impossible to login.
I was using administrator account ...
When i do ctrl-alt-del, if i try to login by typing my
userid and my password, it return the standard login error
message (something like unable to login, check what you
typed, etc...)

Did someone had the same problem ?

Thanks for your help
Greg.

Greetings:

Its probable your computer has been infected by the Sasser.worm
You'll have to do a recovery installation and then go into safe mode
as administrator and take ownership of the HD (C:\drive).

Another alternative would be to attach the HD to another computer
as a slave drive and from there take ownership, recover folders,
remove the virus, etc.

Thanks.
I was not aware of this consequence of the sasser worm.
What I did is reinstall a new XP on the same disk (it's a
laptop so it is not very convenient to plug HD on another
pc)

it allowed me to recover my critical data.
