Unable to install the Welcome Screen

The welcome screen & use fast user switching is blanked
out in a computer I am trying to enter an administrator
and user account on, as its to be a shared computer by
students. When I click on 'change the way users log on
and off' (in user account of control panel), window pops-
up saying "Client Services for NetWare has disabled the
Welcome Screen & fast user Switching. To Restore these
features, you must uninstall 'Client Serices for
NetWare' but this seems to be from windows 2000 server,
and this Computer has Windows XP installed, has never had
2000 at all.
Many students have been using this computer, but have now
left, so cannot ask them! Want to make it impossible
for them to alter any programmes!
Can anyone help me please.

Hi

Client Services for NetWare is available for Windows XP.

It is removed from the Network Connection connection item as it is
listed under properties of the connection it is installed on - there
is a remove option for it.

***
Right click My Network Places and select Properties. Right click the
Internet connection in question, or LAN connection, and select Properties.
On the Networking tab, This connection uses...highlight Client Services for
Netware and select Uninstall.

Also, if you had a student population with access to this
machine sufficient for them to install this, then you may
just be able to save time by starting with a fresh format
and install. Then, make sure you only give them limited
accounts and that the machine is kept patched.
