"unable to initialize Windows registry"

R

Ron McNutt

We are installing our software product (Access97) to a
Win2K Pro machine running Office XP. Our product uses a
professionally written installer (Sagekey software) to
install a separate 'Access 97 Runtime' directory for
Access97 files (so as not to interfere with files on the
users machine). Our runtimes install to another directory.
5 OCX files auto-register (and have been manually
registered). The install appeared successful. On running
the program the error message "Unable to initialize the
Windows registry" etc. "Please reinstall MS Access"
appears. We've done many successful Win2K installs and
have not seen this message before. Helpful comments
appreciated. Thank you. RonM
