unable to get to internet

an Acer2000 running xp pro.. i can check email, i can get onto the
newsgroups, but cannot access the internet with Firefox OR IE6.. how can
that be?.. any help/suggestions?? THANKS!

Click Start, Run, type:

netsh winsock reset

Press Enter key

Restart the system
