unable to FTP

Ivo

Hi,
For no apparent reason I am suddenly unable to access my websites via FTP.
Using a dedicated FTP program such SmartFTP or using the Internet Explorer
browser, with or without firewall, dailing in or connecting through
broadband, all give the same result: after logging in, and the password is
confirmed to be correct, the message "425: Can't build data connection:
Connection refused" appears.

Has anyone heard of this before, please tell me what to do, because I am
clueless and close to hopeless.
Thanks,
Ivo

Hi Ivo :)

You need to set your FTP client to 'passive' mode (PASV). Most major FTP
clients allow this. Read the help files that came with your FTP client to
determine how to set this. Also, check your firewall Preferences.

You can also try adding the FTP sites you use to the Trusted Zone:

Hope this helps.
