since weeks I am experiencing a problem to log on to my
bank account from home. I receive always a message saying
that my java is not activated and i need to reset my
browser. I tried several ways to solve the problem but
with no success. I read lately while downloading Security
Pack for Internet Explorer that lately some users are
experiencing problem while loging on to secure web sites,
and to solve the problem it is better to download file
Q831167.exe which i did, and still the problem is not
solved. Please help me in this, by the way, lately i had
the doom virus and i managed to clean my computer but
after loosing lots of word files. I have Windows Me, and
my Internet connection is broad band LAN.
Thanks and Regards,

I'm having the same problem though I have never been affected by a virus and the website is not Java based. So far I can't get into my secured school website(https) or hotmail. Just get the blank page with "done" in the lower corner. Now, I can access the website through a different dial up computer, different location, using the same internet server??? I can access other "https" sites on my home computer. The internet provider attemted to trouble shoot the problem and failed to correct it. any suggestions

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded.

4. If that doesn't fix it, see this article:

http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#new_window

You can also try this:

Go to Start/run, and type SFC (SFC /SCANNOW for Win2K or WinXP).
Choose 'Extract One File From Installation Disk'.
Type oleaut32.dll, not worrying about its location. Then, click Start.

Next to 'Restore From', type in or browse for the file's location, which is
probably in the Win98 folder of your installation CD-ROM (typically
D:\Win98), or in your Windows\Options\Cabs folder, as the case may be.

Then, next to 'Save File In', enter C:\Windows\System, and click OK. System
File Checker looks for the file, saves it as you requested, and then tells
you that 'the file has been successfully extracted'.

You may need to reboot.

Well, I made my best attempt at all of the recommendations.

regsvr32 urlmon.dll" did register something but the page remains blank when I access the secured section.

"SFC (SFC /SCANNOW for Win2K or WinXP)". The dos box pops up very briefly and I'm not getting any prompts 'Restore From.'

Can't find anything on the site link I was sent.

Do you think it may be just a DLL registering problem

Thnaks in advance,

Thnaks in advance,

Yes, that's an error. Try using msconfig to expand the file.
