Unable to edit index page in design view

I just upgraded from FP2000 to FP2003 and have a site that was already in
progress. For some reason I'm not able to edit the index.html page in design
view. I can edit the code code view though. Other factors to know:

- the Web site is remote on godaddy
- I am to edit the other pages in design view in the site.
- On the index page design view, the cursor changes to a circle with a slash
in it and prevents me from making adjustments
- Worked fine in FP2000

Why is this happening? Is it a setting?

Correction - I'm not able to revise the index page in code view. I was able
to make some minor text changes to it yesterday. But, not today.

Still able to make changes to other pages though and they appear on the Web
site in both the browser (IE)and FP.

So confused ~?~
