unable to download vista rc1--proxy server/other

I was unable to download the vista release candidate due to the proxy
authentication on our college network.
Akamai downloader is not working on our network and when I use other
download managers, download speed is too slow or they show up wrong file
size(1.999gb) but the actual file size is about 2.5-2.6 gb. I tried upto
20-25 times up till now.
I used my laptop to download the file and the harddisk is of ATA type. Can
anyone help me complete the download properly? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Your network admin may have a lockdown on this, and it may be against the
student usage policy, so you may want to do some checking around before
continuing. As to the file size, what are you trying to use as a download
target?
