Unable to display the folder.

I am using Outlook 2003 and am getting the following message: "Unable to
display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook could not access the specified
folder location."

I have read previous threads but am not having any luck so if someone can
help I'd appreciate it.

When do you get this error? Can you see any of your folders? What type of
account do you use?

I get the error when I click onto a sub folder, one of which I have
previously made and has been operational for three years, and the other is
the "delete" folder. All other folders are working normally. This is a stand
alone PC and not attached to a server, so I guess whatever type of account
that would indicate. When I look at properties in mail, the file is simply
titled "outlook"
