Unable to display the folder

The folder is of contact items with user defined fields.
It has been working but now no one on our network can get
into it. The folder is a Public Folder and other Public
Folders are working.
 
Outlook version? What happens when you try to access it?
 
We are running Outlook 2000. When I try to access the
folder, instead of the folder name appearing near the top
of the screen it has "Unable to display the folder" where
the folder name would be.
 
Ick. Is the folder OK if you access it with OWA? I wonder if the default
view for the folder is corrupt. If so, you should be able to use a tool like
Mdbvu32.exe or Outlook Spy to drill down the folder hierarchy and access the
properties and hidden items of the folder. The view will be a hidden item.
