Unable to Display Page when updating McAfee VirusScan 8.0

Ever since I installed McAfee VirusScan 8.0 Home ver on
my P-III 1000 XP Pro machine, I have been unable to
update the files. The download begins fine but at the 58%
point (which is where I believe the download starts to
install) I get a "No page to display" window that says:
Action Cancelled, Internet Explorer was unable to link to
the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily
unavailable." My only option at this point is to use Task
Manager to close this window and end the task. I have
been going back and forth with McAfee for four weeks and
they do not seem to have a clue. Any suggestions are
surely appreciated.
Thanks, Steve

.
You name it...Deleted all temp files (cache), cookies,
Configured IE's cookie settings and security settings,
Downloaded Ad-aware and Spybot and removed all
indications of spyware (both file and registry),
Uninstalled McAfee, ran Reg Clean (and manually removed
every mention of McAfee in registry), Fresh install of
McAfee and still the same problem!
Note: McAfee runs fine except I have to manually download
any updates.

Thanks for your help, Steve
