hi
i am having trouble deleting a user account from windows xp the program just
stops responding as soon as i hit the delete button.
I am also having problems with scandisk running everytime i turn on my pc
and being unable to finnish in step 2/3
I have tried a virus scan and the windows live registry checker all to no help
another thing i have noticed about the user account in question is that i am
unable to access the recycle bin
all other accounts on same comp appear to be fine, do i need to format the
hardrive and if i do will it help.
any idea's because i am pulling my hair out here
thanks in advance

Have you downloaded and utilized the hard disk drive manufacturers' disk
diagnostics to ensure the drive is okay?

Is this user account taking up a great deal of hard disk drive space? Can
you create a new account in its place and just copy/move what you need off
the old account (if you need the account at all)?

i have now managed to delete the account by accessing the user accounts via
start>run>control userpasswords2
deleting the account this way rather than using the control panel link
worked fine
which i typically managed to find in another post after posting this one
still not sorted the chk dsk yet but will run it a few more times to see if
this helps
thanks for the reply
