Unable to delete in-box items

Unable to delete inbox items - error message reads:

"The message interface has returned an unkown error. If
problem presists, restart outlook."

This has never happened before and I've restarted outlook
and the computer many items.

Ideas?

Clear the Deleted Items folder and run Compact Now. Then run scanpst.exe
against your file and try again.
