Unable to create new folders in OL2000

Hi,

Iam using outlook2000.Whenever I try to create a new folder in the mailbox
(ex:In INBOX) I get an error message.

error message is:

Outlook can't read the registry information.
*Close and restart outlook.
*Reinstall Outlook.
*Reinstall microsoft Exchange or other email system.

Iam not sure what would have cause this problem.
I have recreated the profile still no go.But if i logon to any other
computer and try accessing my mailbox and try creating the folder iam able to
create.
Please help me in resolving this for my computer.....

Ooops...I forgot to mention..
I have run Detect and repair as well as have renamed office key.

Hi Chitra,

Have you renamed the Office key in the registry, of so was it HKCU or HKLM,
or both?

Another thing you can try is renaming the .dat files

outcmd.dat
frmcache.dat
extend.dat

You may want to try the following command lines too

Outlook /cleanviews
Outlook /resetfoldernames
Outlook /resetfolders

Hi Lee-Ann,

I have deleted HKEY_USERS\{UserSID}\Software\Microsoft\Office.
Unfortunately that also did not work.I will try renaming the *.dat files and
will get back.
