Unable to copy pst file

The pst file is not accessible (to copy or rename) because I get a message
about "cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of
the file". Outlook appears to be shut down. I am using Outlook 2000 Any
ideas? Thanks

Export. As in File>Export...

Not good advice. Exporting will only compound this problem and should not be
used in lieu of copying a PST file.
The original poster needs to determine why Outlook is not closing the
connection to this PST file. The most common reason is that they had already
tried exporting the file. Close Outlook and reboot before trying to copy
this file.
