But I thought you said you uninstalled it before? Try removing it in safe
mode:

In fact in Safe Mode you cannot see the start button so
cannot access control panel. The start button keyboard
does not work and nor does ctrl-esc shortcut.

Am baffled big time how so many problems can be caused by
MSAS - which I've used elsewhere many times with no
problems at all.
