I have 4 windows xp sp1 machines with all hot fixes applied. I have a shared
printer on one of the pcs which has the correct manufacturer drivers
installed, I have installed the printer onto the 3 other pcs.
I get an strange problem for apparently no reason what so ever the 3 pcs
which connect to the shared printer report that they are "unable to connect"
to the shared printer.
If a reboot is performed on the pc sharing out the printer then the others
connect without problem, and will work correctly for a couple of hours after
which they will report that they are "unable to connect" again which stops
all printing.
I have tried installing the printer onto another one of the machines and I
receive the same issue..

If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time

Double check your power options on the sharing out printer side of things.
See what is going to power saving mode and what can wake them up.
