unable to connect to web site

I upgraded my website to use sharepoint services instead of front page
extensions and now I get the following error when I try and conect using
frontpage 2003

Server errror: the website referenced here is not in the configuration
database

I go to the web site computer and using administration I can see my web site.
I upgraded/changed to sharepoint services because it sounded like it would
give me greater flexiblity with forms and accessing/updating data from a sql
server database which I use extensively on my site.

Is the server a Windows Sharepoint Services server?? It must be for sharepoint features to work.

I downloaded sharepoint services and installed it on my webserver. I have 3
different sites hosted my computer. I have not installed sharepoint on the
others. I can start Sharepoint Admin and see all of the websites and it shows
which one has sharepoint installed.

Is there something I am missing?

I have SQL server installed on this computer as well and I have added the
sharepoint databases to the enterprise view. I can see the configuration
database and there is an entry in it for this website.

I am not really sure how to find out?
If I expand IIS in the management window I see my sites and Sharepoint
central administration and Microsoft Sharepoint administration. If I right
click on eiter they show as running ( Start grayed out, stop & pause
available)

If I look at services there are several services running that seem to be
part of sharepoint. The one service that the support site said to look for is
running (MSSQL$Sharepoint)

Have you used Microsoft Sharepoint administration to create a new sharepoint web and then tried
publishing via FrontPage to that new web.

I am not sure how I would create a new website. Would this be a virtual site
under my exsiting site? I have removed and then readded Sharepoint several
times with no luck.
