Unable to complete upgrade process

J

I am reinstalling Vista Home Premium.
I am using my upgrade DVD to perform a clean install. I have the PC up and
running, its currently on the 30 day trial, with no system conflicts or
uknown devices.
When I run the DVD from within Windows and do the upgrade... I enter my PID
and select Upgrade. After about an hour this message pops up, I have tried
the upgrade twice with the same error.

"Windows could not configure one or more system components. To install
Windows, restart the computer and then restart the installation."

The only programs on the PC are Office 2007 Pro, JAVA, Shockwave,
Flashplayer, Real Media Player, Quicktime, iTunes, AI RoboForm, DivX and, HP
Printer software.

The only device connected to the PC is an HP Deskjet F4140.

I have partitioned the drive so I now have C:Drive and Z:Drive.
I have installed everything that the Windows Update listed to install.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi J,

Refer to my answer to your other post in Windows Vista General Discussion.

It has been my experience that an upgrade is not possible until the original
vista is activated. After activation it will accept the new license.
