unable to check for new messages

hi just wondering if this is a general issue or just me - windows live mail
desktop beta was working perfectly up till yesterday - 29th June but now
whwnever I start it up I get this error - Unable to poll for new messages on
your HTTP server. Protocol: NNTP, Server Response: 'An error has occurred.',
Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x8004108D. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled it but still same error - any ideas? - im using windows firewall
so that shouldnt stop it and I have added it as an exeption in there but
still no joy
