Unable to browse domain

J

Jeffrey Slack

Installed new Windows Server 2003 running Domain
Controller, DNS and DHCP. Three client computers on the
domain all running Windows XP Pro. All three successfully
logon to the network domain. All diagnostics; ipconfig,
netview, ping, show a successful network. I can ping all
network devices from every computer including the server.
I can navigate to the domain icon through "Entire
Network", from each Windows XP computer, but when I
attempt to browse the domain, by double-clicking the
domain icon, there's a lengthy wait followed by the
message, "EFD is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have
access permissions. The list of servers for this
workgroup is not currently available."

Also of interest: I can access shared folders on the
server by using the UNC path.
