Unable to boot in safe mode... but can in normal boot mode

Question....

I was checking to see if I could boot in safe mode... I get an erro
saying cant do I want to use the lask known good boot config... I say
yes and the system boots... Question.... Why can I get the system to
boot in safe mode??? Using Windows XP Media edition....

Installed the command console but there was no joy... I have no idaea
which driver may be corrupt so dont know which one to reinstall....
there was no dianostic ran when I installed the command console... I
thought it would scan the system and give possible problem s / give
suggestions... guess I m not that good with the console...

I did uninstall it though..

Thanks for the suggestion... again safe mode still inop.... I may have
to restor a july back up I have made with nortons ghost...

See if you can get to Safe Mode this way.

Start | Run | Type: msconfig | Click OK |
Boot.ini tab | Check: /SAFEBOOT | Click Apply |
Click OK | When you see the prompt to restart the computer |
Click Restart

Don't forget to UNCheck /SAFEBOOT in msconfig after/if you get into Safe
Mode and are done doing whatever or you will be STUCK in Safe Mode.
