When trying to schedule a resource, I receive the message "The object
could not be found. Unable to directly book a resource for this
meeting."

I have looked at all the permissions and I even set myself to Owner
because Author did not work. It still does not work.

Has anyone that has received this message (which appears to be quite a
few), gotten it to work??? If so, please share your solution.

This is on Outlook 2003 on an XP machine.

Kris:

Dou you have this problem using security groups to assign permissions ?
Because i have the same problem using them.

In my case, If i add explicitly the users and give them the Author
permissions it works well.

I don´t know if this workaround helps you.

I´m researching about this problem (there is very few information about it),
if i get something else i´ll let you know

I'm specifically adding myself as a user.

All:

We have a similar problem in our place, with one specific resource.

We are trying to book a room (Room1), and we have x users in the
meeting. The X can change, but does not affect the outcome. I am
able to book the room, but another person with similar rights as I
cannot.

Room1 is set up as a user in our environment, and is places in the
Resources-> location when adding meeting recipients.

The Room1 user does not have any permissions outside of being a member
of "Domain users".

Thanx for your time and research on the issue.

Chad

We are also having the same problem.

We have users who trying to book a room. The whole department (10
people) can do it, but their new manager is unable to get it. We have
had members of this department get this error before, but it went away
without anything being done to address it. *insert Twilight Zone
theme here*

Any ideas would be helpful.
