I have a SBS2k domain. I am adding a domain controller and will be demoting
the original SBS2k domain controller to a member server and then removing
from domain. I was recreating the share names from the SBS server to the
regular Win2k server and I am unable to add the Administrators built-in
group to a share. Does anyone know why this is happening? I verified that
I was able to at one time since the SBS2k server has the Administrators
group there? Help?

This is not a supported scenario, the SBS Server must be Domain Controller,
and the forest root domain. You can add an additional Domain Controller for
redundancy. But you are not allowed to demote the SBS Server from the Domain
Controller role.

"Using Migration Pack for Small Business Server 2000" Its not free and it
costs to buy. Its allowed if you have the Migration Pack, How ever you may
get better support in the SBS group, try a post there too.

I don't plan on using the Migration pack at all, but instead use the second
option without the migration pack. Let me know what you think since I'm
right in the middle of the migration.
