Unable to Activate Welcome Screen

Hi
I'm having some issues with the login screen. For about the last
year, my computer has been stuck on ctrl + alt + del to log on.
I have tried to switch to the Welcome Screen/Fast Switch thing back, but I
am unable to do so. In User Accounts when I click on the link to enable to
switch on the welcome screen, it disappears. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks
Kogie

I'm presuming you're not on a domain, as you can't use either the Welcome
Screen or Fast User switching with that.

Is this XP Pro, and do you have Offline Files enabled? (control panel,
folder options, offline files tab). I know you can't use Fast User Switching
if that's enabled (not sure about the Welcome Screen, tho).

Do you see anything interesting in your event logs?

yes I recently went through this myself.
offline files has to be disabled and the welcome screen has to be checked
before the enable fast user switching will be accessable

Why can you not have the Login Welcome screen when you are connected to a
domain?
