Unable to access old files

I recently upgraded to a larger hard drive and installed a fresh XP HOME OS
on new drive. I left my old data, which I had set up not to be shared on
multiple user config, on the old drive. Now when I try to access the files
my new XP O/S will not allow me access to them.
