I have a small network consisting of 10 computers. Some running Win2k, others
Windows XP. I just added two new Dells with XP Pro SP2.
When I try browsing the internet from a new Dell, I get the "IE could not
open the search page".
1. I can ping the router and everything else with an IP on our intranet.
It's all good.
2. When I try to ping a site on the internet, the ping times out. When I
ping a name (e.g. www.google.com), the name is resolved and it's IP is
displayed next to the name.
3. Some of the other computers are running XP Pro with SP2 installed by me
(no factory install). They are working jsut fine.
4. The firewall has been disbled in the GPO and on the local machine.
5. The remaining computers exhibit no symptons of networking issues.
Any suggestons?
