unable instal visual studio 6.0 service pack on windows xp

I need to program in visual basic and asp. so tried to instal visual studio
6.0 service pack on windows xp. but it is the set up was not completed
successfully. the dialog box i am gettint is -----
visual studio 6.0 service pack 4 setup was not completed successfully.

can any body help me please....

Hi,

Are u installing from the CD or from a network share. Try
to install it from a CD or copy the setup files to the
same pc whre u want to install it and then run setup
again. Do start ur pc before doing this.
