Umax Astra 1220p scanner

just received a Astra 1220p Umax scanner and it is not
installing right, is there a different driver I need.
Have disc,

I am trying to get my scanner to work- but it is putting colored stripe
down the scanned page. Can this be fixed or do I need a new scanner

If you are using the latest available driver then depending on the age of
the scanner, you might consider just buying a newer one. They have gone
down in price.

I had the 1220s which was the same scanner in scsi, and while there were no
drivers for XP on the US page, there were drivers on the German website.

I don't know if they're still there or not, however.

But that's a really old scanner, so unless it's got some features that make
it indispensable, you (the OP) might want to consider replacing it with
something newer. I ended up buying the cheapest scanner I could find (my
scanning needs have been greatly reduced), and for under $30, it's got
better resolution and weighs a heck of a lot less, with a smaller footprint
than the UMAX.

The only thing the UMAX can do that the cheap one can't is scan film and
slides, and that's not something I need very often.
