UK computer parts

Remo-Shiva

Hi All,

I'm gonna build my first pc from scratch, anyone know where to get all the
parts cheaply in the UK, I know both those words "cheap" and "UK" don't go
together but if its cheaper than this www.novatech.co.uk I will be very
happy.

Thanks in advance
Mark

I use Novatech for everything and can highly recommend them. I check
dabs.com if I need a quick comparison - they are almost as cheap, sometimes
cheaper for their own 'dabsvalue' items.

http://www.microdirect.co.uk
http://www.simply.co.uk http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/home/
http://www.aria.co.uk

All these are pretty good - some are better for a different component or
part than others.
If you live near to them you can often pick gear up yourself and save on
postage.
For example Aria and Microdirect have stores in Manchester near me so I use
them quite a bit.
If you have the time then shop around!!!

Also try micom http://www.micom.co.uk. They are around ebuyer prices,
smaller selection but better for soundcards (terratec and m-audio). Prices
are OK cheaper for some, more expensive for others.

They will build it for you too for a fee. (around £35)

They have a on-line custom jobie like novatech used to have.

I have NOT bought from anyone but am in the process of doing so.

Eek. The choices and needing Linux compatability too.

How about a discount for the ad micom?

I've used Dabs and Novatech in the past. Dabs seems to have got a bit slow,
and Novatech seems to have a rather selective catalogue recently; although
they have both delivered the goods. You might also consider
http://www.overclock.co.uk

I have found their service very good.

Take care,

John.

I just ordered some items from Novatech to complete a rebuild, which the
site said were in stock. It turned out weren't. So I cancelled the order and
ordered them from Kustom PCs yesterday - www.kustompcs.co.uk

The parts arrived this morning (Saturday!). Kustom may have a more limited
range of parts but I can't argue with their comms or their service.

As well as the above I've also found SpotOn Computers and Europa computers
(both located in the Manchester area) to be pretty low-priced for most
parts, especially cases, drives and expansion cards. Maplins sometimes have
some m/board & CPU 'bundles at good prices also.
