I am truying to burn a file that is 4.2 GB in size onto a dvd-r. I am
using windows xp pro with InfraRecorded. I have tried settign the
file system to UDF, but for some reason I am hitting a 4 GB filesize
limi. Any files smaller than 4GB get burned fine, but If I try a file
larger than 4 GB, I get an error message. Can anybody help me?

Its a well known problem and any decent burner software can handle that.

So it is not a problem with UDF but a problem with its implementation
in InfraRecorder? What is filesize limit of a UDF DVD?

I'm using Nero Burning Rom v8.
Burning a single file 4.3 GB (as shown in explorer)
using "DVD-ROM(UDF)" option has no problem.
The blank DVD has a capacity of 4.5 GB (as shown in Nero).

The 4GB problem occurs with ISO format.
UDF+ISO is only useful for video and Windows before 2000.
