UAC in RC2

I downloaded a copy of Nero 7 Lite, per recommendations here, since the
regular Nero 7 isn't compatible with Vista yet.

So far it works great but there is a minor annoyance that has to do with UAC.

Even though I have the program tagged with the Run As Administrator token in
properties, every time I click to launch the program I get a "UAC - an
unidentified program wants access to your computer (nero.exe) Cancel or
Allow". Once I allow it works fine.

I thought giving the program the Run as Administrator privilege would not
warrant a UAC flag.

What gives? And is there anyway, short of disabling UAC altogether, to make
this program run without UAC intervention?

Hello,

When you mark a program as "Run As Administrator" in properties, this will
make the program always ask you for administrator permission whenever it
starts. It does not make the program always run as an adminstrator without
your knowledge.

There is no way to make a program always run with administrator powers
without your approval - this would defeat the purpose of UAC. If this was
allowed, (malicious) programs would be able to take advantage of the
programs that you have allowed to start with admin permission, and using
them, would be able to take control of your system without your knowledge -
the very thing UAC is designed to prevent.

Unfortunately, you will have to wait for a fix from the manufacturer of the
application to make this work correctly.
