typing underline shortcut

I know that you can use *word* to make something bold and _word_ to italicize
something, but what is the equivalent for underline? Thanks.
 
No, I was looking for a shortcut that didn't involve the CTRL key, much like
the examples I had below. Do you know if there is such a thing for Underline?

I looked the AutoFormat area where you activate the feature of *bold* and
_italics_ and it doesn't list underline so I would think that it doesn't
exist.
