Typing in word

Every time i create a new word document, when i begin typing, the letters
type over the top of each other. This also happens when i open exsisting word
documents and it even prints them this way. I have checked the usual things
such as formatting and letter spacing, but it appears to be something else
causing it. Does anyone know how to stop this from happening?

This seems to be caused by Word temporarily losing track of the printer
driver. Open the Print dialog, select a different printer, then reselect the
desired one and close.
