Typing in Word 2007

Everytime I open Word, it doesn't allow me to type.
It says 'This modification is not allowed because the selection is locked.'
How do I get it unlocked?

Have you activated the product? Is it a trial version that has expired? (If
it came installed on a new computer, and you didn't specifically pay extra
for it, it is almost certainly a trial version.)
