typing in the address bar

Scott

I changed some setting in my registry and can't find the
one that is causing my problem. I am using ie 6 and I
use to be able to type in a web name like weather.com
and I would be directed to that site even though I did
not type in http:// before the web name. Can't do it any
more that way. Does anyone have a suggestion short of
reinstalling ie 6?

If you are comfortable with Registry edits, you can check these keys and
edit them, if necessary, as follows:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\
DefaultPrefix default="http://"

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\
Prefixes
"ftp"="ftp://"
"gopher"="gopher://"
"home"="http://"
"mosaic"="http://"
"www"="http://"

Alternatively you can try here:
