typing in Hebrew in Internet Explorer 6

Q

Quadratic

I apologize if this is not an appropriate forum for this query.

I am having trouble typing in Hebrew only in search windows in
Internet Explorer 6.0 (it works fine in other programs like Babylon
and Microsoft Word 2003, I can switch between English & Hebrew at
will) on Windows XP Home Edition. But in IE 6.0, I get a weird font
when I try to type Hebrew in a search window on a Hebrew web site,
with some Hebrew letters and some empty boxes appearing. Hebrew web
pages can be read OK, the problem is only with typing in Hebrew.

Thank you for any help that you can offer.

Howard,
In IE6.0 Tools menue, go to "Internet Options", click on "Languages", click
on "Add" and add Hebrew [he] from the list.
To check that this works correctly, go to any Hebrew web site, copy a word
from that page text, paste it into your search text-box and hit enter. If
your search works OK, then your IE6.0 works fine, and the problem might be
that you have downloaded some Hebrew font that's is not universally
supported.
Regards,

It is already there, without that I assume that I could not read
any Hebrew web sites, correct?

I did that and the Hebrew text appears in the search Window OK.
But if I type from the keyboard in the search window, I do not get
characters according to the standard Hebrew keyboard, sometimes I get
garbage. If I have downloaded multiple Hebrew fonts, how do I change
to a different one for IE?

Thank you again.
