Two versions of Word aren't playing together

GS,

As a long time programmer,I can tell you from experience that install order
has nothing to do with a PROPERLY written and installed program.

In this case the install order determines which version is the default
(until Update changes that)! It has nothing to do with anything else!!
Writing programs that interfere with your own programs or programs that other
software writers have written (despite common belief) do not show your
superior coding skills.

As a not so long time programmer, I agree.

In a directory I have some Word documents and some .reg files.

I can open and save the reg files with no problem.

However, when I open a Word document and save it, when I exit Word, I find the document unchanged with the original file date intact.

What could be the problem ?

Problems started AFTER installation of Office 2010 and continue AFTER removal of Office 2010.

When I open documents with Office 2000 and make changes and save it, I get no error messages.

File is unchanged with the original file date.

I am wondering if Office 2010 has damaged or put a lock on my files which were created in Word 2000.

Best regards,
Andy
