Two urgent questions... Thanks

OK i have two quick questions for you guys!

1: How do you remove the Recycle bin icon from your desktop..

and

2: whenever I double click a folder to open it up, instead of opening it, it
opens up the search window for that folder like so..

This is extreemly irritating and I would like to know if any of you could

1. Apply this REG file to hide the Recycle bin:

(Open in Notepad if you want to view the contents)

Use TweakUI to Hide the Recycle bin from the Desktop.

2. Type in Start, Run:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
(Tip from David Candy)

More Information: This problem occurs when you alter the "Drive" / "File
Folders" entries via File Types dialog, to add a "Command Prompt here" or
"Print Directory" feature for folders. (example)

Resolution:

Click Start/Run and type this command to fix this problem:

Fix "Search" Opens Instead of Explorer:

To fix this manually via registry:

If this problem is seen for Drives:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
Set (default) to "none" (without ")

If this problem is seen for folders:

Set (default) to "none" (without ")

Tried to view. Got "page not found". But then I can see why a URL with a
bunch of period characters wouldn't work. Looks like Bert's answer has you
covered on this one.
