Two security issues

I had Outlook and BCM loaded and running. Norton Antivirus came on (first
time this has happened since I installed the stuff two weeks previously) and
said it had blocked an attack. Did this several more times. I looked at the
details and it said one port on my PC was looking at other ports with some
UDP-SQL packets. Not thinking that I had SQL installed on my machine, I went
looking for it. Found it under BCM with three folders, including one labeled
"80" and one "90". I deleted all of them.
Now, I'm still getting the attack message, apparently while the stub of BCM
is looking for its SQL db (messages to that effect are popping up. And
Norton still thinks it is trying to invade.
Two questions: How do I repair my BCM installation and how do I get what
appears to be a normal operation to quit tripping Norton? Or is it really a
virus?
Thanks in advance,

Hi Rick,

it would surprise me if this was a virus, but for safety do a scan before
proceding.

Try using add/remove programs to uninstall BCM, then reinstalling to get it
back working. If the uninstall fails (because the SQL is missing) I would try
downloading and installing SQL Server 2005 Express, be sure to name the
instance MSSMLBIZ, then try reinstalling BCM.

As for Norton I don't know this product in detail, but would belive it
should be easy to get it not to respond to this event, try looking in the
Norton help file?

Side note: If you do not host your BCM database, your local SQL database is
only used to store the offline database if you choose to create it. If you do
not need to have an offline database your local SQL Datbase can be deleted
without affecting BCM, but beware that this is unsupported and tested from
Microsoft.
