Two Questions on Outlook Contacts & Calendar

D

dbstein

My Outlook 2007 contacts only show the categories I've assigned to them when
I open up the category view. They used to show up as colored bars on top of
business card contact view. I'd like to get that view back - any ideas?

My second question is that the Calendar seems to have lost all the personal
birthdays I input as Recurring occurences. Any idea how to get them back in?\

Thank you so much - this is a great resource!

Did you recently import your .pst file?

Recurrences are lost when you import.

To restore the bars, right click on the top level folder ad choose
properties then upgrade to color categories.

I MAY have imported my .pst file recently - does that mean the birthday
recurrences are all lost or is their a way to retrieve them? Thank you, Milly.

You would need to open each contact and change something about the birthday, even if it is only to insert a year or change the day, then change back.

One of the reasons to never import native Outlook data - instead, see if the information here will be useful to you should you ever have to reinstall Outlook again:
