Two problems: Spyware AND Disk Cleanup

#1 - There's several spyware programs on my computer. One of them it won't
let me delete, the others I delete and then when i restart my computer they
come back.
#2 - My diskcleanup is not working. When it starts scanning my hard drive it
freezes in the middle and won't finish the disk cleanup.

If anyone can tell me how to fix either of these problems I would be

How are you deleting them? Have you looked up the specific spyware names
and ways to remove them using something like Google? Have you used multiple
antispyware applications.. in Safe Mode?

First - make sure you have NOT installed "Rogue AntiSpyware". There are
people out there who created AntiSpyware products that actually install
spyware of their own! You need to avoid these:

Start -> Run -> Regedit
Navigate to:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches\CompressOldFiles

and DELETE the key: CompressOldFiles

** NOTE: This disables the Compress File function completely

Then reboot.

Jimmie, Always "munge" your real email. I would expect some strange email
in your AOL mailbox if I were you.
(Example of a munged version of your email: (e-mail address removed) <-
Remove SPAM ME NOT to email me.)

For disk cleanup,read kb812248 Some programs dont have an uninstaller
included with them,youre best bet,use search in my computer,type in the info
and all associating utilitys for it one at a time,then delete.Look up the
same in
regedit,delete.Internet options,settings,view objects,delete it there also.

Run these programs to check for spyware/malware. After installing
update them, then boot into safe mode and run them. You should update
and run them weekly.
