Two Outlook icons in System Tray

Although only one instance of Outlook 2002 is running (as listed in XP
Task Manager) there are TWO icons in my tray.

How can that arise please?

I don't know.... I don't use Outlook... but perhaps it has something to
do with a device which syncs with Outlook. See this post, and the reply
from an Outlook MVP:

Thanks Glen. That could well be behind the behaviour I suppose. But very
strange that it has started only recently, with no obvious changes as far
as my smartphone's Active Sync connection.

BTW, that link crashes Firefox consistently, but it opens fine in IE.

The link works fine for me, using Firefox 15.01 on Windows 7.

No problem with the link here, in Firefox 3.6.28 or Firefox 15, or
Opera.
