Two Outlook contact folders available

If I click 'To' while preparing new mails, it says as under :
"The contacts folder associated with this address list could not be opened."
Under outlook address book, there are two contacts folder are being shown.
One contains all the contacts list and another one is empty.

How can I remove the contacts folder which has no entries. Or how can I make
the contacts folder which has valid entries as "default address book".

Try this:
- go to the Tools menu > Email accounts command
- select View / Change existing directories or address books and click Next
- highlight the Outlook Address Book and click Change
- remove all contact folders shown from the list
- exit out of the dialogs
- right click on your Contacts folder and choose Properties
- go to the Outlook Address Book tab and check the "Show this folder as an
email address book" box
