Two networks in the same server.

I need to setup a second network card in a server so that we can back up a
second server on a seperate network. I have configured the second card on
both server and linked them together with a crossover cable. I have also
assigned an IP address to each of the new cards. But I can not get each
machine to ping the other on the new IP address. I want to use backupexec to
run the back.

The other Nic needs to be a different subnet. It must not have a Default
Gateway. The same for the other Nic on the other machine you are connecting
it to.
