If I have two computers in my house, do I need two
seperate copies of XP home edition?

Michael --

Installing Windows XP on two different computers, using the
same Product Key (license), is a direct violation of the EULA
and Product Activation will fail with the second installation.

The Windows XP End-User License Agreement (EULA) states you
can install one copy of XP on one computer. So you'll need
to purchase a second copy (Product Key - license) for a second
installation.

Read your Windows XP End-User License Agreement:

Start > Run and type: WINVER , and hit enter.

Also, open XP's "Help and Support" and type: EULA
and click on "Questions and Answers about the
End-User License Agreement".

if you had two cars you would have to buy twice as much
gasoline....10 gallons for each car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
buy the second xp and live with it.
=========================

two cars....twice gas/maintenance (etc) cost.
two houses....twice electric (etc) cost
two children....twice clothes (etc) to buy
two people go to movies....two tickets.
take wife (friend) to dinner....two meals.
two telephones....twice annoying vendors calls.
two jobs....less time with family (!)
two email addresses....twice spam/virus
two computers....two operating systems.
it goes on ... and on.

think about what business you are in and ask yourself if
you would do two services for a customer and one for
free.

Order two pizzas for home delivery, then try to pay for just one
(no coupons). Let us know what happens.

Order one pizza for two people. Install it in two people, no problem.

(no coupons). Let us know what happens.

Yes. ANd that has always been the requirement for windows. It is
because it has been so widely ignored that Activation has been brought
in
