Two Boot Profiles

I had to reinstall my win2000 pro due to corrupted system files and now I
have two boot profiles at the initial startup screen, the new boot
installation plus the corrupted boot system. On startup I have to either
select the first option or wait for the 30 secs to time out before it starts
booting the OS. Is there a way to remove the 30sec count down or even the
corrupted win2000 profile so it boots straight into the working version???

modify your boot.ini file and remove the initial installation line, or
change the time from 30 to 5 or whatever makes you comfortable. be sure to
change the properties of the file first, uncheck "read only" other wise you
wont be able to save it. then change it back to read only when you are done
saving it

or better yet.

right click on my computer

select the advanced tab and then click on the "startup and recovery"
button and set the timeouts yourself.
