Tweakui is hiding?

Maybe it's just me, and I do have the flu right now, but... I just
tried to instal Tweakui (correct vn) on a newly reinstalled W2K Pro
setup. It appears to install ok, but nothing apears in the Control
panel. The tweakui.cpl file is shown twice in the win directory
(identical date and time). But no icon in CP. I can't remember how
Tweakui names it CP icon - but I can't see it.

So, I thought I'd look at my XP machine for comparison. I d'l and
install the XP vn. Seems to install - but - no CP Icon here either.
Have MS hidden it under something new or what?

TWeakui is shown under Add/remove Programs on the XOP machine, not on
the W2k

Dooooh! Any ideas, please?

Just spotted the icon on the XP desktop - thought it always put it in
the Control Panel before?. However, no further forward with the W2K
machine, which is where i really want it.

Has the TweakUI icon been hidden intentionally at some point?

To access TweakUI, go to Start, then Run. Type tweakui.cpl and then click
OK. Once the utility loads, go to the Control Panel tab and see if
tweakui.cpl is unchecked. If so, check it and exit the program. It should
reappear.

Hope this helps.

TweakUI does not install to the Control Panel on XP, but it does normally
do so on Win 2K, where the icon is labeled "Tweak UI". It looks like a
hammer and gear in front of a monitor. Are you sure you have the correct
version? It's 1.33 for Win 2K.

Thanks, but I've tried that. Just got error "cannot find the file
'tweakui.cpl'" However, your message did pompt me to try copying the
tweakui.cpl file manually into the winbdows system32 folder, where the
..cpl files live, and that seems to have worked. So thanks anyway to
all who responded!
